CAPTAIN: Pirate Captains are the ones who are at the very head of a Pirate crew. Pirating captains also tend to be the mightiest members of their crew, and most of them tend to exploit their strength even over their own subordinates to ensure loyalty; though not necessarily, as anyone can attain the rank of captaincy out of pure leadership or even as a founding member. All major decisions are made by them.
A FIRST MATE: A First Mate is the top officer on board a ship after the captain. Mostly, they may fill a number of roles from checking stock to making sure everyone else is doing their job on the ship. He answers only to one person on a ship, his captain.
Navigator: A navigator is the person onboard a ship responsible for the navigation of the vessel. The navigator's responsibilities include planning the journey, advising the captain (or pilot) while en route, and ensuring that hazards or obstacles are avoided. A navigator is the member of the crew who is the most knowledgeable about the world as it is crucial for the determination of course and direction when traveling. A good navigator has a skilled understanding of tools such as maps, compasses and sea charts that are able to not only travel through the sea but use the sea to their advantage in whatever direction they are headed.
Cook: Cooks are people who cook for passengers or crewmates on ships. All pirates can be hungry, so many of them need a chef to cook food to fill their belly. The purpose of a chef in the crew is to maintain edibles and crew survival between points. A good cook knows about the basics of all food taken on board the ship and the means to prepare it into something that can allow the crew to have something to eat.
Shipwright: A shipwright is a carpenter who works specifically on ships. They are responsible for the building and the repair of the ship. Most pirates needed them for repair and general maintenance of their ships.
Doctor: A doctor is a person who practices human biological medicine. A doctor is usually a necessity for sea travel. One who is skilled in medicine and health care is necessary in order for the crew to survive to harshness of the sea. Doctors are usually required to heal wounds from battles, or prepare medicine for sick members.
Gunner: A gunner is a potential asset to the crew. They have very good eye sight and precise accuracy with projectiles such as cannons, guns, bows, and etc. They usually take over the command of the swabbies when their ship engages in ship battles that will involve using cannons.
Lookout: Lookout usually spends most of their time in the crow's nest looking out for any dangers or hazards. But their main focus is finding a nearby land. They usually have a slight sense of navigation and usually helps the navigator if needed.
Swordsman: A swordsman or swordswoman is a person versed in the art of the sword. Nearly every crew/organization has a swordsman within it. A skilled swordsman is a valuable asset to a crew, and swordsmen are often found in positions of high respect, such as a first mate or maybe even the captain. Swordsmen can channel their energy through their swords and bodies.
Musician: A musician is someone who performs music, sings a song and would often use musical instruments. Musicians are thought of as an optional crew member compared to the more crucial jobs held within a crew. A musician is not necessarily needed for a successful journey of a pirate or of others both on land and sea. However, a musician is usually brought along for one purpose: keeping up the spirits and the romantic hope of a crew alive and lively.
Swabbies: Swabbies are normal pirate members that has no special positions within the crew but are still useful in senses of using their own battle skills or even just cleaning and keeping the ship orderly.

If they encounter pirates, they will apprehend them, but, as an agency, Cipher Pol seems to focus more on political threats to the World Government than more generic criminals. So far, the bulk of the CP agencies seen on the Grand Line are those groups number CP5 and above, which may indicate that CP1 through CP4 are based in the Blues while the higher units are based on the Grand Line. Members of CP1 through CP6 are allowed to start with one Rokushiki ability, which takes an techniques slot, while members of CP7, CP8, and CP9 are able to start with two, taking two techniques slots.
Bounty Hunters are people who make a living out of catching criminals for the bounty on their head
The reasons behind a bounty hunter doing their job is often mixed. Some are hunting down criminals just for money, others to bring them to justice their way and some for fame. Bounty Hunters also act independently from other established law enforcement groups and are free to roam as they please. They also have no fixed workings and some may hunt solo or with others. While they are sometimes no better than criminals themselves, they are left alone to hunt criminals so long as they don't break the law while doing so. Regardless, all criminals caught are handed into the Marines dead or alive.
